Feb 8, 2021 路 2002 Mk4 TDI Golf, ALH 1.9 Feb 8, 2021 #1 I have a 2002 MK4 TDI Golf (5-speed manual), bought it used last year. Everything is stock. Turbo is gone, went ahead and took out the engine to refurb as much as I can (honestly it is easier to remove the engine and work on the turbo than doing it in place!).
May 9, 2007 路 1) The ECU is a 68 pin all metal ecu with a port for the manifold pressure. 2) The wiring harness has a 68 pin connector. 3) My Bentley's covers North American 1997-1999 Jettas, Golfs etc. I've changed a few things, including the MAF (MK4) and turbo (vnt-15).

Having cleaned it manually, solvents, hard labour a few times, the last time I used fire: 1) Put it down flat. 2) Put some turpentine in the intakes. 3) Gas flame, let it burn until turps is gone. 4) Compressed air. 5) Shake, tap, repeat process few times. 6) Wire brush to get it nice looking again.

Get a stage 2 daily, good for stock, and can handle a fairly decent power bump. Consider replacing the pivot joint and release fork while you are in there.
